Get a scrap piece of paper from the front table and divide it into 4's with a "T" Do NOT write your name on it!  In each box, write ONLY an example of a heterogenous mixture, a homogenous mixture, a pure element & a compound (one for each square).

In your notebooks, please write down the following questions AND your answers:
1. Which of the 3 subatomic particles play the greatest role in determining the physical & chemical properties of an element?
2. True or false: In a chemical reaction, the mass of the reactants equals the mass of the products?
3. What are four indicators that a chemical change may be occurring?
4. Draw a change of state diagram for water and label where the material is a solid, liquid, and a gas, AND where the changes of state are occurring.  Be sure to include the boiling and melting point of water in your diagram. (You don't need to write this question in your notebooks, just the answer!)
